Abstract
Present status of the search for 0νββ decay and of the related theoretical questions is reviewed. The mechanism of the decay, and how to recognize it, is discussed first, followed by the relation of the effective neutrino Majorana mass and the oscillation parameters, and the problems of nuclear matrix elements. The planned ~100 kg experiments are briefly described.
