Insectivora from the Sespe uppermost Eocene, California

Abstract
The insectivores now known from the uppermost Eocene stage of the Sespe (Locality 150) comprise three distinct types. The most abundant form represented at this locality is evidently related to the erinaceid genus Proterix from the Oreodon beds of the White River Oligocene. Associated with this type is a second genus, presumably of erinaceid affinities but known principally by an incomplete ramus of the mandible. The third genus is a member of the Leptictidae. Curiously enough, this was the first insectivore to be recognized in the fauna from Locality 150, but the type remains at present the least known of any of these forms.
