Evaluation of the Third Moment of the Imaginary Part of the Dielectric Constant

Abstract
The values of the third moment of the imaginary part of the dielectric constant are reported for a number of AB semiconductors. The frequency ωa defined by Hopfield is obtained from these moments and is compared with the average band gap ωg defined by the electronic part of the dielectric constant at zero frequency.
