Abstract
Methods for evaluating the performance of air quality models through comparison of observed and predicted concentrations are summarized and categorized. The comparisons are based on techniques for analyzing residuals, trends, and common air quality indices. The techniques have been incorporated into a computational package for the automatic assessment of model performance.
