Abstract
Aerosol Science and Technology was established in 1982 by the American Association for Aerosol Research (AAAR) to provide a venue for publication of the entire spectrum of aerosol research. Then, as now, much of the work focused on atmospheric aerosols, initally addressing local and regional air quality issues but expanding to address problems of global scale. Characterization and control pollutant emissions, lung deposition and associated health effects, drug delivery, the good and bad roles of aerosols in the processing of advanced materials and devices, nanotechnology, instrumentation, and basic aerosol science questions are all addressed in the pages of this journal. The range of topics covered has changed over the past two decades, and will continue to evolve into the future.
