Pink amethyst from the El Choique mine, Patagonia, Argentina

Abstract
Geodes from the El Choique mine in Argentina first appeared on the market in 2017 at a gem fair held in Brazil. The geodes are lined with various minerals, most notably pink amethyst crystals-a new color variety of quartz. The substantial reserves remaining should continue to yield attractive specimens for years to come.
