A criticism of the Holm-Munksgaard oxygen and strontium isotope study of the Vulsinian District, Central Italy

Abstract

Holm and Munksgaard [1] and Holm et al. [2] sharply criticized the conclusions of Turi and Taylor [3-5] concerning the K-rich volcanic rocks from the Roman Comagmatic Province of central Italy. Based on new studies of the lavas from the Vulsini and Alban Hills volcanic centers by Ferrata et al. [6,7], together with data from Cupaello and San Venanzo by Taylor et al. [8], we believe that the following conclusions of Holm and Munksgaard (H-M) are invalid.
