Abstract
Several biographical statements regarding Dr. John Campbell Merriam have already appeared Doctor Merriam became a Fellow of The Geological Society of America in 1895 and was the thirty-first president of the Society in 1919 when he was 50 years of age. He died in Oakland, California, on October 30, 1945, having just passed his seventy-sixth birthday.
