Abstract
In 1962, I struck up a collaboration with Bill Goddard and several solid-state physics labs to do a systematic study of the properties of metal-semiconductor junctions. These structures are ubiquitous in semiconductor devices and are central to their operation. Understanding them is at the boundary of Physics and Chemistry.
