2.5D Metastructures; Design, Optimization, and Experimental Demonstration

Abstract
We present the design, fabrication, and characterization of multifunctional 2.5D metastructures using adjoint optimization. Our technique considers complex interactions among meta-atoms and offers significantly improved performance compared to conventional unit-cell-based techniques.
