Abstract
The insertion polymn. of polar monomers remains a significant challenge in polyolefin synthesis. Multimetallic catalysts may be suitable candidates to address this problem via secondary metal centers' electronic, steric or metal-metal cooperative effects. We have prepd. binucleating phenoxide ligands and utilized them to support mono-nickel complexes. Treatment with second metal precursors results in the formation of heterobimetallic complexes. The effect of the bimetallic catalyst structure on olefin polymn. behavior will be discussed.
