Abstract
What is psychophysics? In its traditional definition, psychophysics studies how mental states (psycho) are affected by physical stimuli (physics). For instance, a cute dog (physical stimulus) may elicit a feeling of warmth and affection (psycho state), and psychophysics studies how specific attributes (breed, size, smell, etc.) of the dog relate to our feelings.
