Abstract
This book is devoted to the theory of two-dimensional flow of inviscid fluids and the solution of problems by the use of the theory of functions of a complex variable. There is no study of boundary layers or viscous wakes, and effects of viscosity are completely neglected. Nevertheless the range of topics is wide, and the problems and examples chosen to develop and illustrate the theory are generally those for which it is known that ideal fluid theory gives a close approximation to the real flow. The work is indeed clearly motivated by real problems which gives the book a vital flavor and interest, and many of the results are of practical importance.
