Small-Ring Compounds. XXXIX. A Dimer of Triphenylfluorocyclobutadiene
Abstract
The chemistry of the previously described substance, C_(44)H_(30)F_2, from the reaction of 1,1-difluoro-2,4-dichloro-3-phenylcyclobutene and phenyllithium is discussed in light of the recent X-ray diffraction study by Hughes and Fritchie which proves the substance to be a dimer of, triphenylfluorocyclobutadiene.
