Abstract
A reinvestigation of the nmr spectrum of cyclobutene has led to a revised set of coupling constants which is consistent both with the ^(13)C proton satellite spectra of cyclobutene and with the spectra of partially deuterated cyclobutene isomers. The present treatment differs from that reported previously by inclusion of long-range ^(13)C-C-H and ^(13)C-C-C-H couplings which in effect make the two methylene groups and the two vinyl hydrogens nonequivalent.
