Abstract
The High Speed Water Tunnel is operated by the California Institute of Technology under Contract OEMsr-207 with the OSRD and is sponsored by Division 6, Section 6.1 of the NDRC. The tests reported in this memorandum were made at the request of the U. S. Navy Department, Bureau of Ordnance as a part of Navy Project ND-141. The report covers water tunnel tests of a 2" diameter model of the 15" AN-MIC. 41 Bomb (Model Scale Ratio 7.5 to 1), and several modifications of this bomb. The hydrodynamic forces, the drag, crosswind force, and the moment, acting on the projectiles were measured and the locations of the center-of-pressure were calculated for various velocities and yaw angles.
