The ^(119)Sn-^(13)C and ^(119)Sn-^1H Couplings for Methyl Derivatives of tin in Various Solvents
Chicago
Abstract
The spin-spin coupling constants |1J(^(119)Sn-^(13)C)| and |2J(^(119)Sn-^1H)| have been obtained from ^(13)C and ^1H NMR spectra of (CH_3)_n SnHal_(4−n) (n =1-4; Hat = Cl, Br) in various solvents (CCl_4, benzene, nitrobenzene, CD_3CN, acetone-d_6, dimethylformamide-d_7, dimethyl sulfoxide-d_6, pyridine, hexamethylphosphoramide). The data show that the relations between these constants as a function of solvent are not linear, and this indicates that other contributions besides Fermi contact terms are important in determining ^(119)Sn-^(13)C couplings.
