Abstract
An introduction to the most commonly employed relations in nuclear astrophysics is presented, followed by a brief summary of some of the remarkable, recent advances in the development, and application to nuclear astrophysics problems, of radioactive nuclear beams. The paper then reports the experimental evaluation of a recoil nucleus separator for experiments with radioactive nuclear beams. Finally, the paper discusses the design of an experiment to determine the El radiative capture cross-section of the ^(12)C(α,y)^(16)O reaction by measuring the, β-delayed α-spectrum of ^(16)N.
