Absolute measurement of accelerator beam energy by the time-of-flight technique

Abstract
A simple time-of-flight technique for measuring absolute beam energy is described. A precision of better than 0.03% in energy was obtained easily, and several obvious improvements are suggested which should yield a precision of better than 0.01%.
