An Improvement in the Shadow-Cast Replica Technique

Abstract
Williams and Backus have recently discussed in full detail the shadow-cast replica technique of electron microscopy. In the course of an investigation of the reactions of proteins in thin films, we have performed some experiments with this technique embodying an improvement which we wish to report.
