4D electron microscopy: Developments and applications

Abstract

Over the past decade, the development of 4D electron microscopy-with all-variant techniques-has provided numerous applications in the fields of chem., materials science and dynamical biol. In this lecture, we will overview these developments, some of the different applications, and explore the potential for future extensions. It is with immense pride that Professor Sir John Thomas has been awarded this Prize; his vision for the field is well-documented and will be highlighted in the lecture.
