Abstract

The papers making up Issue No. 1 of Volume 13 of Structural Control and Health Monitoring, aggregated here, are published as a tribute to Thomas K. Caughey, who was Hayman Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Emeritus, at the California Institute of Technology and Honorary Associate Editor of this journal prior to his death on 7 December 2004. Professor Caughey was a major contributor to the general field of dynamics over the past half-century.
