Abstract
This report gives the results of extensive and detailed measurements of the flow pattern in a single stage axial flow compressor with free vortex blading. Considerable information is given on the location and magnitude of losses through the various blade rows. Some of the measurements are repetitions of those given in an earlier report, but the new data is more detailed and presumably more accurate. Preliminary results are presented on the investigation of the radial distribution of work input by measuring the rise of stagnation temperature along a stream line.
