Abstract
The increased resolution made possible by post-war advances in the design and location of photoheliographs and magnetographs has led to an increasing recognition of the role which fine structure plays in the physics of the solar atmosphere.
Additional Information
I owe my introduction to this subject to Dr. H. Zirin, his continuing support and encouragement were much appreciated. The filtergrams used in these studies were derived mainly from the excellent films obtained by BBSO over the past two years, recently under the direction of Dr. A. Bhatnagar and Mr. T.Pope. The final draft of this paper has benefited greatly from discussion with delegates at the Colloquium in Capri, and with staff of the Sacramento Peak Observatory during a recent visit to that institution. This work was supported by Nasa Grant No. NGR 05-002-034, and NSF Grant No. GA-13642.Attached Files
