Abstract
Results of calculations of the photoelectron spectra for single‐photon pulsed‐field ionization of the 1π orbital of the X (^2)Π (v″=0) ground state NO leading to the a ^(3)Σ^+ (v^(+)=0–2) excited ionic state are reported. Agreement between these calculated and recently measured spectra is very encouraging. Comparison of these spectra for ionization of the 1π level of NO (X ^(2)Π) with those for the 2π orbital reveal significantly different spectral profiles and underlying dynamics for these two cases
