Electromagnetic Perturbations on πNN and πNN* Couplings in the Chew-Low Model: Detailed Calculation

Abstract

Electromagnetic perturbations on πNN and πNN* couplings are studied in the N-N* reciprocal boot-strap model. We perform explicit calculations for both linear and curved D functions. The linear-D results agree with the conclusions reached in the previous paper. No enhancement of eigenvectors with eigenvalue equal to (or near to) +1 occurs, and thus our results are not accurate numerically. We do expect, however, that the prediction of very small effects (δR / R≅1%) is reliable.
