New problems in the general choice theory

Abstract

This is a review of the studies in the general theory of choice carried out in the Institute of Control Sciences, Moscow, USSR, in the laboratory headed by the present writer. The results of the studies were published in Russian in scientific publications little known to economists and sociologists. Our review aims at familiarizing with these results, the scientists active in the field of choice theory, for whom the relevant original publications are difficult to obtain. The review includes publications by the following authors (in the Russian alphabetic order): M. A. Aizerman, F. T. Aleskerov, Ye. V. Bauman, V. I. Vol'skiy, N. V. Zavalishin, B. M. Litvakov, A. V. Malishevski, and Ye. S. Pyatnitsky.
