Rearrangement of N-Heterocylic Carbenes Involving Heterocycle Cleavage
Abstract
In two similar but unrelated cases, a novel type of ring-opening reaction of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) was observed. These compounds may represent a general class of hitherto unknown decomposition products of NHCs
