Thermonuclear Reaction Rates, III
Abstract
We have followed Heywood's advice and written this paper to revise and update stellar thermonuclear reaction rates presented in two previous papers by Fowler, Caughlan & Zimmerman (7) (hereafter referred to as FCZ I) and Fowler, Caughlan & Zimmerman (8) (hereafter referred to as FCZ II). A number of new important reaction rates have been added. These revisions and additions are necessitated by the large number of new laboratory measurements of nuclear cross sections performed in the intervening years. Experimental nuclear astrophysics exhibits continuing vitality in laboratories around the world. For the sake of brevity we do not repeat the theoretical analysis given in FCZ I and FCZ II and do not repeat stellar reaction rates that have remained unchanged since publication of FCZ II. It is appropriate that this paper has been written during 1982, the twenty-fifth anniversary of two early papers in nuclear astrophysics: Cameron (4) and Burbidge, Burbidge, Fowler & Hoyle (3), commonly referred to as B^2FH.
