Calcium pretreatment of coal for sulphur emissions control in combustion

Abstract
A new technique is described for precipitating CaCO₃ within the porous space of coal with the objective of reducing sulphur emissions during combustion/gasification. Results are reported from two combustion experiments conducted under fuel lean conditions in a laminar flow reactor.
