Über den Mechanismus der Bildung von Diphenyl aus Fluorbenzol und Phenyllithium

Abstract

Isotopic carbon has been used to show that biphenyl is formed from fluorobenzene and phenyllithium through operation of an elimination-addition mechanism involving a symmetrical intermediate, probably C_6H_4 (benzyne).
