Observations of Electron Acceleration and Closed Field Lines in Magnetosheath-Like Regions

Abstract
Using data from the Caltech experiment on IMP-8, it is shown that flux increases of energetic electrons (E ≥ 200 keV) at ~30 R_E in low-latitude regions with magnetosheath-like plasma flows have distinct characteristics.
