The Status of LIGO

Abstract
Construction activities at the LIGO Observatories near Hanford, Washington and Livingston, Louisiana are complete. Installation of detector components and initial commissioning of detector sub-systems is now under way. The scope of the overall project is reviewed. The current status of the commissioning effort and future plans are outlined.
